View from Arthurs Seat over City - Photography in Edinburgh

Edinburgh Photography, a lofty view from Holyrood Park in Edinburgh

If you are looking for stunning views, fresh air and some peace and quiet than you don’t need to go far. Holyrood Park is a place everyone can try out!
This is a lovely place to visit and a great reward after trekking up the 251 m (823 ft) walk to the summit of Arthur’s seat. Walking the route from Dunsapie Loch and just before I reached the top, I felt like I was out in the countryside - far from being in the centre of a city!

This is without doubt one of my favourite places in Edinburgh. "This is really a haven in the centre of the busy city of Edinburgh”. Not many cities can boast a 650-acre area of countryside right in their centre. The most famous part of Holyrood Park is its highest peak, Arthur’s Seat, from where the whole city can be seen in all its splendour. A most beautiful time to be here is at sunset, and then dusk when the streetlights of Edinburgh quietly catch fire and create a tranquil twinkle that settles the mind.
