Are You a Professional Photographer?

No!, far from it... and I can’t blame you for being inquisitive. There are countless photographers out there and a few of them trying to persuade you that they are “number one”. Well, I will not claim that I am number one or throw you a string of glossy options in front of you then wait for you to jump on them. I just love taking photographs, always have always will. I don’t really like to classify myself as a photographer because a photographer makes his living doing, it. I could tell you what you want to hear, but that wouldn't make it true! I don't consider myself a professional, I'm far from it, more “Sunday League”. Being a non professional photographer sits comfortably with me, however, I do try to conduct myself in a professional manner. If you plan to hire a professional photographer be your own judge, yours is the only opinion that really matters.

Should Professional Photographers Be Concerned With John Gilchrist Photography Undercutting Their Products And Services?

No! that’s not the objective! The intention is to compliment and not compete with most services provided by professional photographers. Many potential clients would like the funds to use professional services but just can’t meet the expense of doing so. Instead of leaving them in no-mans-land, I like to think I can provide a desirable service for pennywise clients.

What Experience Has Taught You About Professional Photography: Facilitating Clients Requirements And Technical Ability?

Ok, cards on the table! I have been seriously involved in photography for nearly three years now. I have limited field experience and hold no professional photography qualifications or undertaken any recognised training package. On the back of all that and in my defence, the internet is a resourceful channel that I have found invaluable. I have several contacts in the craft that are a source of inspiration and support. Before you short-list a photographer, it is essential you determine what experience level you feel comfortable with. Photography conditions vary in terms of available light, which can change from location to location. Decide the importance of the shoot and what environment best matches the experience level required of the photographer. Therefore, before you consider me as your photographer I recommend that you look at my photographs from my portfolio, once there you will find numerous photos for your evaluation.

How Can You Offer Lower Prices Than Other Photographers Can?

Simple! I offer a "non-professional" service. Choosing a Photographer - When to lower your price! Many trained professionals have overheads that reflect their prices. Since I have a "day job”, I do not have the same outlay as professionals. My photography service focuses towards budget-minded clients that cannot tell a great deal of difference between my work and the work of a qualified professional photographers. If you cannot tell the difference, you don’t have to pay the difference, it’s your call. The last thing you want to do is shop by price but if it were within your budget, I would always recommend that you go with the professional photographer. They are the people that do this for a living and without doubt, you will get outstanding results.
