Situated in the South East of Scotland, Edinburgh is located on the coastline of the Firth of Forth with stunning views from many of the lofty locations surrounding the city’s landscape scenery. Set amidst several hills, vantage points will be enjoyed from Arthur’s Seat, Calton Hill, Corstorphine Hill, Craiglockhart Hill, Blackford Hill and the Braid Hills.
There is diversity when it comes to architectural styles within Edinburgh. The New Town enjoys a generous and well-maintained example of Georgian town planning whilst the historical tenements and legendary Old Town closes and wynds retain that medieval history famous the world over. Leading out to the outskirts and greenbelts, there is a variety of well-established and modern developments to give any avid visitor an abundance of photo opportunities. Areas that would suit some photographers include Stockbridge, Broughton and Haymarket.
Marchmont, Polwarth and the Pollock Halls of residence are popular areas that are nearby to the many educational facilities such as The University of Edinburgh, Heriot Watt University and Edinburgh Napier University as well as Edinburgh College, always interesting to document
